Fast, Precise Imaging with Multi-slice CT Scans

Our advanced Computed Tomography (CT) scanner provides rapid and highly detailed cross-sectional images of your body. At Tarang Diagnostic Centre, we utilize this powerful technology to deliver swift, accurate diagnoses for a wide range of conditions, especially in chest, abdomen, and emergency situations.

What is a CT Scan?

A Detailed 360-Degree View of Your Health

A CT scan, sometimes called a CAT scan, is a sophisticated diagnostic procedure that combines a series of X-ray images taken from different angles around your body. A powerful computer then processes these images to create detailed, cross-sectional views (or "slices") of your bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues. This provides a much more comprehensive picture than a regular X-ray, allowing for the precise detection, diagnosis, and monitoring of various medical conditions.

Why Choose Tarang for Your CT Scan?

The Tarang Advantage for Speed and Precision

Preparing for Your CT Scan

Simple Steps for Your CT Scan Preparation

Your preparation will depend on the type of CT scan you are having.

01.

Clothing

You will be asked to wear a medical gown and remove any metal objects, as they can interfere with the image quality.

02.

Fasting

For some scans, particularly of the abdomen and pelvis, you may be asked to not eat or drink for a few hours beforehand.

03.

Contrast Media

Many CT scans require a special dye, called contrast media, to highlight certain tissues and blood vessels. This can be given as a drink or injected into a vein. Our staff will inform you of the specific instructions when you book your appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The scan itself is painless. You will lie on a table that moves through the doughnut-shaped scanner. If a contrast dye is injected, you might feel a brief warm sensation, which is normal.

The actual scanning time is very fast, often just a few minutes. The entire appointment, including preparation, may take 30 to 60 minutes.

We use the lowest possible radiation dose to get high-quality images (ALARA principle). The diagnostic benefit of an accurate CT scan far outweighs the minimal risk associated with the radiation dose.

A CT scan uses X-rays and is excellent for imaging bones, identifying acute bleeding, and general scans of the chest and abdomen. An MRI uses a magnetic field, is radiation-free, and is superior for detailed images of soft tissues like the brain, spine, and joints.
