Ultrasound is a safe, radiation-free, and powerful diagnostic tool that uses sound waves to create real-time images of your body’s internal organs. At Tarang Diagnostic Centre, we offer a comprehensive range of ultrasound and colour doppler studies for everything from pregnancy monitoring to in-depth vascular assessment.
An ultrasound scan, also known as sonography, is a non-invasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. A small, handheld device called a transducer is placed on your skin, which emits high-frequency sound waves. These waves travel through the body and bounce back, creating a live picture (sonogram) on a monitor. It is completely painless and is one of the safest imaging methods available, which is why it is the preferred technique for monitoring pregnancy.
A Full Spectrum of Ultrasound & Doppler Studies
Obstetric (Pregnancy) Ultrasound: We are honored to be a part of your pregnancy journey. We offer a complete range of obstetric ultrasounds to monitor the health and development of your baby, from early confirmation of pregnancy to detailed anomaly scans (Level II) and growth monitoring in the third trimester.
Abdomen & Pelvis Ultrasound: This is a common and highly effective scan for examining the organs in the abdominal cavity, including the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen. It helps diagnose conditions causing abdominal pain, detect gallstones, and assess kidney function. Pelvic ultrasounds are used to view the uterus, ovaries, and bladder.
Thyroid, Neck, & Breast Ultrasound: Ultrasound is an excellent tool for imaging the body's smaller, superficial structures. We perform high-resolution scans to evaluate thyroid nodules, neck lumps, and to investigate breast abnormalities, often as a complementary study to mammography.
Prostate & Renal (Kidney) Ultrasound: We provide specific ultrasound examinations to assess the health of the urinary system. A renal ultrasound evaluates the size and shape of the kidneys and can detect stones or blockages. A prostate ultrasound is used to check the size and condition of the prostate gland.
At Tarang Diagnostic Centre, we provide specialized Pediatric & Soft Tissue Ultrasound services designed for children and adults. This safe, painless, and radiation-free imaging technique helps evaluate muscles, ligaments, soft tissues, and pediatric organs with high accuracy. Our advanced ultrasound machines ensure detailed visualization for detecting infections, cysts, swelling, or injuries. With expert radiologists, we deliver precise reports, supporting early diagnosis and effective treatment in a caring environment.
Preparation for an ultrasound varies depending on the area being examined.
You will likely be asked to fast (not eat or drink) for 6-8 hours before the scan to ensure your abdominal organs are clearly visible.
You will need to drink several glasses of water and avoid using the restroom before your appointment to ensure your bladder is full. A full bladder acts as a window to see the pelvic organs.
Most other ultrasounds, such as for the neck, breast, or limbs, require no special preparation. Our staff will provide you with specific instructions when you schedule your appointment.
Yes, it is one of the safest medical imaging procedures. It does not use any radiation and has no known harmful side effects.
Not at all. You may feel mild pressure from the transducer, and the gel used can feel cool on your skin, but the procedure is painless.
Determining the gender of the fetus is possible during certain scans. However, please note that pre-natal sex determination is illegal in India, and we strictly adhere to all government regulations (PCPNDT Act).
Most scans are completed within 20-30 minutes.
